Present your driving licence or state ID from Apple Wallet
You can add and use your driving licence or state ID in Apple Wallet on your iPhone or Apple Watch in participating states, and at selected businesses, venues and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoints at airports in those states.
When you use your licence or ID at a TSA checkpoint, you’ll need to authenticate with the Face ID or Touch ID associated with your licence or ID before your phone presents your information to the identity reader.
To use your licence or ID on your Apple Watch at a TSA checkpoint, you’ll need to unlock your iPhone using the associated Face ID or Touch ID each time you put on your Apple Watch. Then you can use your licence or ID without authenticating until you take the watch off again.
You can also present your licence or ID to help verify your identity information in participating apps and app clips. For example, you can use your licence or ID in Apple Wallet to help verify your identity when applying for a credit card in a financial services app.
When you authenticate with Face ID or Touch ID to share your information, you’ll need to do so with the Face ID or Touch ID associated with your licence or ID.
How to present your driving licence or state ID in person
Hold the top of your iPhone or the display of your Apple Watch near the identity reader. You don’t need to unlock, show or hand over your device to present your licence or ID.
On the screen of your device, review the information that will be shared.
To provide your consent:
On an iPhone using Face ID: double-click the side button to authenticate.
On an iPhone using Touch ID: hold your finger on the Home button to authenticate.
On an Apple Watch: double-click the side button.
When you present your licence or ID successfully, a tick and “Done” will appear on your device.
Depending on where you present your licence or ID, there may be additional requirements. For example, when you present your licence or ID to the TSA, their identity reader will capture your image for comparison with the image presented from your licence or ID in Apple Wallet.
How to share your driving licence or state ID in an app with your iPhone
In an app or app clip, tap the Verify with Apple Wallet or Continue with Apple Wallet button.
Review the information that will be shared and other details:

The information the app will store, and how long the app plans to store that information.
The reason the app is requesting this information.
To provide your consent:
On an iPhone with Face ID: double-click the side button, then authenticate.
On an iPhone with Touch ID: hold your finger on the Home button to authenticate.
IDs in Apple Wallet take advantage of the privacy and security features already built into iPhone and Apple Watch to help protect against tampering and theft:
Your driving licence or state ID data is encrypted.
Neither the state-issuing authority nor Apple can see when and where you use your licence or ID.
Biometric authentication using Face ID and Touch ID helps make sure only you can view and use your licence or ID.
