Update the date of birth associated with an Apple Account

It’s important to have the correct date of birth on file with your Apple Account. It’s used in features like Family Sharing and helps provide age-appropriate experiences.

Edit the date of birth on an Apple Account

You can edit your date of birth in your Apple Account settings or on the web.

You can edit a child’s date of birth by signing in to their account on the web. If you’re changing a birthday from an adult to a child, learn more about converting to a Child Account.

Edit your date of birth on an iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Settings, then tap [your name].

  2. Tap Personal Information. You may need to sign in to your Apple Account.

  3. Tap your date of birth to edit it.

  4. Update your birthday, then tap the Done button. If you’re changing a birthday from an adult to a child, learn more about converting to a Child Account.

Edit your date of birth on a Mac

  1. Open System Settings, then click [your name].

  2. Click Personal Information. You may need to sign in to your Apple Account.

  3. Click your date of birth to edit it.

  4. Update your birthday. If you’re trying to change a date of birth from an adult to a child, use an iPhone, iPad or the web instead.

Edit your date of birth or a child’s date of birth on the web

  1. Sign in to account.apple.com with the account you want to edit.

  2. Select Personal Information, then choose Birthday.

  3. Update the date of birth and click Save. If you’re changing a birthday from an adult to a child, learn more about converting to a Child Account.

Depending on how you created your Apple Account, you may be required to provide additional information or change your Apple Account primary user name from a mobile phone number to an email address.

Change the birthday for a Child Account

To change a birthday to any age below 13 (age varies by country or region), the account must be a member of a Family Sharing group, and the Family Sharing organiser must approve the change.
