Audition an audio file on Mac
The AURoundtripAAC Audio Unit is an audio plug-in that checks for clipping by comparing an AAC file to the original source audio file. The AURoundtripAAC Audio Unit includes clip and peak detection, as well as a test environment. You can use the plug-in in any audio host app, such as Logic Pro or AU Lab.
Click the Audition tab to monitor the source audio or the encoded audio, then do any of the following:
Click Source or Encoded to switch the audio.
Click the Encoded Format pop-up menu to choose a different format. Choose Custom to specify a format that isn’t included in the pop-up menu.
When the audio is clipped and the clip indicators turn red, click Reset to reset the indicators.
Click Show Details to see more information about the peak values and clipping counts in the audio, the highest peak per channel for both the source and encoded audio, and the sample peak and inter-sample peak.
