If the flash isn't working
To test the LED flash, try the flashlight in Control Center:
- From the Home screen, on an iPhone X or later or an iPad, swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen. On an iPhone 8 or earlier, swipe up from the bottom edge of any screen.
- Tap the Flashlight button , in the bottom-left corner of Control Center.
If the LED flash doesn't work as a flashlight, contact Apple Support.
Check your settings
If the flash isn’t working, or it goes off every time you take a photo, check your flash settings. Open the Camera app and tap the flash button , in the upper left of the screen, to choose a different setting.
If your device is very warm or cold
If you take extended video with the flash on, or you’re using the device in a very warm environment, you might see a message that says the flash is disabled. The message remains until your device cools down.
If your device's battery level is low and your device is very warm or cold, the camera flash and the flashlight might not work. These features will work again when you charge your device and return it to a more normal temperature.
