Studio Display XDR Cables

Before You Begin

Danger

Ensure that the AC power cord isn’t plugged into an electrical outlet.

Remove the following part before you begin:

Tools

  • ESD-safe tweezers

  • Nylon probe (black stick)

Refer to a full list of tools required for all repairs.

Removal

Note: If you’ve already completed the removal steps, skip to reassembly.

  1. Slide the end of the display backlight power flex cable out of the connector on the back of the display.

  2. Use the black stick to flip up the locking lever on the left display flex cable. Then slide the end of the flex cable out of the connector on the back of the display.

  3. Use the black stick to flip up the locking lever on the right display flex cable. Then slide the end of the flex cable out of the connector on the back of the display.

  4. Use the black stick to flip up the locking lever on the backlight signal/camera/ambient light sensor (ALS) flex cable. Then slide the end of the flex cable out of the connector on the back of the display.

Reassembly

  1. Slide the end of the display backlight power flex cable into the connector on the logic board. Then press the polyester film tab over the connector on the back of the display.

  2. Slide the end of the backlight signal/camera/ALS flex cable into the connector as shown. Then flip down the locking lever on the end of the flex cable on the back of the display.

  3. Slide the end of the right display flex cable into the connector as shown. Then flip down the locking lever on the end of the flex cable on the back of the display.

  4. Press the right display flex cable where shown to adhere it to the back of the display.

  5. Slide the end of the left display flex cable into the connector as shown. Then flip down the locking lever on the end of the flex cable on the back of the display.

  6. Press the left display flex cable where shown to adhere it to the back of the display.

Reinstall the following part to complete reassembly:
