Mac Pro (2023) and Mac Pro (Rack, 2023) Power Supply
Before You Begin
Remove the following part before you begin:
Mac Pro (2023)
Mac Pro (Rack, 2023)
Tools
#1 Phillips screwdriver
Adjustable torque driver (0.3–1.2 Nm)
Nylon probe (black stick)
Torx Plus 8IP 89 mm bit
Removal
Use the 0.3–1.2 Nm adjustable torque driver and 8IP bit to remove the 8IP screw (923-03408) from the power supply grounding bracket.
Use the #1 Phillips screwdriver to fully loosen the four #1 Phillips screws from the left clamp plate. Remove the clamp plate and save it for reassembly.
Note: The #1 Phillip screws are captive and stay attached to the clamp plate.
Position the flat end of the black stick behind the left side of the power supply and hold the right side. Then pull the power supply from both sides straight out of the space frame.
Reassembly
Important
Check the power supply gasket for any damage or misalignment before reinstalling the power supply.
Insert the power supply into the space frame as shown. Push firmly and evenly until the power supply is fully inserted.
Set the torque value on the 0.3–1.2 Nm adjustable torque driver to 0.55 Nm. Use the adjustable torque driver and 8IP bit to reinstall the 8IP screw (923-03408) into the power supply grounding bracket.
Position the left clamp plate as shown. Then use the #1 Phillips screwdriver to fully tighten the four #1 Phillips screws into the clamp plate.
Reinstall the following part to complete reassembly:
