Cancel AppleCare coverage for your Apple device
You can cancel the AppleCare plan or policy coverage for your devices, whether you pay monthly or annually, or paid upfront in full for your plan.
If you don't want to keep AppleCare coverage for your Apple device, you can cancel your plan or policy based on how you purchased the coverage.1 If you cancel AppleCare coverage for your device, you might be able to get new AppleCare coverage later if you change your mind.
If you purchased recurring AppleCare coverage from a wireless carrier or other reseller, contact the carrier or reseller to request a refund.
If you pay monthly or annually for your AppleCare plan
For AppleCare plans with recurring payments billed through Apple, you can cancel your AppleCare plan any time.
If you cancel your plan through the following methods, the AppleCare coverage for your device will end immediately.
Open AppleCare & Warranty settings on your device (Open the Settings app, select General, then select AppleCare & Warranty.)
If you don't see your AppleCare plan in your subscriptions, your AppleCare plan might not be linked to your Apple Account. You can finish your AppleCare plan setup by linking your plan to your Apple Account.

If you upgrade your AppleCare plan or policy
You don't have to manually cancel your current AppleCare plan if you want to upgrade to a new AppleCare plan. When you choose to upgrade from one AppleCare plan to another AppleCare plan (for example, AppleCare+ to AppleCare One), your previous plan will be canceled automatically.
You will receive a refund based on the percentage of unexpired AppleCare plan coverage. If the original plan was paid upfront in full, this will be sent as an Apple Gift Card.
If AppleCare One Family is canceled for your Family Sharing group
If your Family plan is canceled for your Family Sharing group, your previously covered devices might be eligible for new coverage. Learn how to get AppleCare coverage for your device
If you paid in full upfront for a fixed-term AppleCare plan
If you purchased AppleCare coverage from a wireless network provider or other reseller within the last 30 days, you may need to contact the network provider or reseller to request cancellation. If you paid upfront for your AppleCare plan through Apple, you might be able to cancel your AppleCare plan online.
Cancel an AppleCare plan that has been paid in full
If you sell or give away your device, you might be able to transfer your AppleCare plan to the new owner instead of canceling the plan.

The AppleCare agreement number. You can find this information online by signing in to your Apple Account and selecting your device.
The serial number of the device that the plan covers. Learn how to find the serial number of your Apple product.
The original sales receipt for your AppleCare plan.
