Manage grocery categories in Reminders on Mac
You can create your own categories or rename the predefined categories in grocery lists.
Note: All Reminders features described in this guide are available when using updated iCloud reminders. Some features aren’t available when using accounts from other providers.
Add additional grocery categories
In the Reminders app on your Mac, select a grocery list in the sidebar.
Click the Add Section button in the toolbar (or choose File > New Section).
Enter a name for the new grocery category, then press Return.
Rename grocery categories
In the Reminders app on your Mac, select a grocery list in the sidebar.
Do one of the following:
Select a category, then enter a new name.
Choose File > Edit Sections, select a category, click the More button , choose Rename Section, enter a new name for the category, then click Done.
If you previously changed the name of the section, you can choose Restore Section Name to change it back to the original name.
Rearrange grocery categories
You can change the order of the grocery categories to match the arrangement of your favorite supermarket.
In the Reminders app on your Mac, select a grocery list in the sidebar.
Choose File > Edit Sections.
Select a category, then drag it into the order you prefer.
When you’re finished rearranging the categories, click Done.
Show or hide empty grocery categories
In the Reminders app on your Mac, select a grocery list in the sidebar.
Choose File > Edit Sections, then select or deselect the Hide Empty Sections checkbox.
