Create a trailer project in iMovie on iPad
In iMovie, you can create professional-quality movie trailers using your own video and photos.
To create a trailer project, you first choose a trailer template. You can choose from a number of genres—for example, romance or superhero—with graphics and theme music to match.
If you’re in a classroom setting and using an iPad set up as a Shared iPad, your projects are automatically stored in iCloud Drive rather than on the iPad itself.
Note: For educational institutions using Shared iPad, iMovie is designed to be used by students who are logged in on only one iPad at a time.
In the Projects browser, tap the Create button
, then tap Trailer.
Tap to select an iMovie trailer template (in landscape orientation, scroll to see more templates).
To preview a selected template, tap the Play button
below the viewer.
The duration of the trailer appears in the lower-right corner of the viewer. The number of cast members the trailer accommodates, if any, appears in the lower-left corner.
Tap Create in the upper-right corner to create a trailer with the template that’s currently selected.
To add video and photos to your trailer, see Add video and photos to a trailer in iMovie on iPad. To add titles and credits, see Add titles to a trailer in iMovie on iPad.
