This may occur when the wrong version of Mac OS X Snow Leopard is installed on MacBook (13-inch, Mid 2010). Use the correct restore DVDs that were included in the box and designed specifically for MacBook (13-inch, Mid 2010). Find out which build version is correct for your computer or use the install DVDs that came with your computer.
- Locate the restore DVDs that came in the MacBook (13-inch, Mid 2010) box. If you cannot locate them, contact AppleCare and ask about fulfilling the correct restore DVD media for MacBook (13-inch, Mid 2010).
- Insert the MacBook (13-inch, Mid 2010) restore DVD 1, then follow the instructions to begin the Installer.
- Choose an Upgrade installation and use the second DVD as prompted, if necessary.
- After installation completes and your MacBook restarts, run Software Update to make sure you have the latest versions of Apple software installed on your MacBook (13-inch, Mid 2010).
Do not use a Mac OS X v10.6.0 or v10.6.3 Snow Leopard retail DVD (or restore media from a different Mac that shipped with Snow Leopard) to restore MacBook (13-inch, Mid 2010); use only DVD that was included in the box.
