For Service Pack 2 systems
If you've installed Service Pack 2 on your system, you can use Bonjour for Windows to reconfigure the firewall automatically afterwards—you should not manually reconfigure this setting. To do this:
- Go to the Control Panel and click Add or Remove Programs.
- Select Bonjour from the list, then click Change/Remove.
- Choose Repair, then follow the onscreen instructions.
If repairing doesn't resolve the issue, try uninstalling and reinstalling Bonjour.
- Go to the Control Panel and click on Add or Remove Programs.
- Select Bonjour from the list, then click Change/Remove.
- Choose Remove, then follow the onscreen instructions.
- Reinstall Bonjour for Windows by downloading the program from the Apple website, or install it from the media on which it came.
For no Service Pack or Service Pack 1 systems
If you've never installed a Service Pack or installed Service Pack 1 (but not 2), you must configure the firewall manually by following these steps:
- On the Start menu, click Control Panel.
- Click Networking and Internet Connections.
- Click Network Connections.
- Double-click the connection you use for iTunes music sharing.
- Click Properties.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Select the "Protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing access to this computer from the Internet" checkbox.
- Click Settings; the Advanced Settings window appears.
- Click the Add button; the Service Settings window appears.
