Your Mac ejects CDs or DVDs when you insert them

You may need to clean your CD or DVD disc if the computer ejects it after you insert it.

To clean a CD or DVD disc, wipe the shiny surface with a soft, damp cloth, working from center to edge.

If the disc is scratched, it may be unreadable. Try using the disc in another drive to see if it's readable.

When handling discs, be careful not to leave fingerprints, place other materials on the discs, or add labels to the discs that may cause them to become unbalanced when spinning.
