Use good lighting for the best iSight picture

To get the best lighted picture in the iChat video window, use a good light source in a well-lit room.

iSight works best when there is good lighting available.

Light Source
Incandescent bulbs tend to create yellow light, particularly if they are old or on dimmers. They frequently do not provide good lighting for cameras. Halogen bulbs are much better, as are fluorescent lights, and natural sunlight. Whatever the light source, diffused light works better than direct lighting (point the light at a wall rather than directly at your face).

The Auto White Balance feature works best when there is a single light source - regardless of whether the source is incandescent, fluorescent, halogen, or sunlight.

Brightness
Although iSight is designed to work with light as low as 50 lux (lx), you will get better performance with 300 lx or more, which is the light level you would expect in a well-lit office. If possible, avoid having a brightly lit background.
