iMac (17-inch 1GHz) The iMac (17-inch 1GHz) was introduced in January 2003. It retains the hallmark form of the previous two models of flat panel iMac, but can be distinguished by the ports on the back, which are in a different order than previous iMacs. iMac (USB 2.0) The iMac (USB 2.0) was introduced in September 2003. It has similar rear ports as the iMac (17-inch 1GHz) but the USB ports are USB 2.0 instead of USB 1.1. These ports don't look any different, but Apple System Profiler will report the USB port speed.
