If your Apple Vision Pro is frozen or won't turn on

If your Apple Vision Pro has a frozen screen or won't turn on, learn what to do.

If your Apple Vision Pro display is frozen

Force restart your Apple Vision Pro:

  1. Press and hold the top button and the Digital Crown at the same time until the display turns black.

  2. To turn your device back on, press and hold the top button for three seconds, then let go.

If your Apple Vision Pro won't turn on

  1. Make sure that the battery is connected properly to Apple Vision Pro. Try disconnecting it and then reconnecting it. The LED on the part of the power cable that attaches to Apple Vision Pro should pulse as the device starts up, and then glow steadily when the device is ready for you to put it on.

  2. Make sure that the battery has charge. Connect the battery to a power outlet using a USB-C Charge Cable and an Apple USB-C power adapter of at least 30W. The LED on the battery turns on for a few seconds when you connect it to power. Learn what the battery light can tell you about the battery's charge level.

  3. Try turning on Apple Vision Pro. Press and hold the top button for three seconds, then let go. As the device starts up, the Apple logo appears on the EyeSight display within approximately five seconds. If you're wearing Apple Vision Pro, you'll see the displays pulse with light in approximately 15 seconds.

Apple Vision Pro shuts down after 48 hours

If your Apple Vision Pro is turned on and you don't use it for 48 hours, the device shuts down automatically.* Put on Apple Vision Pro, then press and hold the top button for three seconds to turn it back on.

*Apple Vision Pro shuts down automatically after 24 hours without use if you have visionOS 26 or earlier. If you have visionOS 26.1 or later, it shuts down after 48 hours.
