If you need to remove a Rapid Security Response

If you applied a recent Rapid Security Response, you can choose to remove it.

Rapid Security Responses deliver important security improvements between software updates and help fix security issues more quickly.

If you believe that a Rapid Security Response might be causing an issue, you can choose to remove it. When you remove a Rapid Security Response, you remove all Rapid Security Responses that have been applied since the last software update.

You can apply or reapply available Rapid Security Responses until the next software update is released.

How to remove a Rapid Security Response for iOS or iPadOS

  1. Open Settings, then select About > iOS (or iPadOS) Version.

  2. Tap Remove Security Response.

  3. Tap Remove to confirm.

You see the option to remove a Rapid Security Response only if you already applied it.

How to remove a Rapid Security Response for macOS

  1. Choose the Apple menu  > About This Mac.

  2. Click More Info.

  3. Under macOS, click the Info buttonInfo button next to the version number.

  4. Click Remove and Restart, then click to confirm.

You see the option to remove a Rapid Security Response only if you already applied it.
