About billing and purchases in Europe

In Europe, when you purchase something from the App Store or another Apple media service, you might be asked to verify your credit or debit card with your card issuer.

About making purchases in Europe

When you buy something from the App Store or another Apple media service or buy iCloud storage, you might be prompted to authenticate your credit or debit card with your card issuer. Or when you add a new payment method, you might need to authenticate it. When this happens, follow the on-screen instructions.

If you can't complete the on-screen instructions that are provided by your card issuer, contact your card issuer. If you’re using a device that doesn't have an Internet browser, such as an Apple TV or Apple Watch, you’ll be asked to use another device to verify your payment method.

In Europe, purchases might not be grouped on the same bill. Each purchase that you make is charged to your payment method as soon as you buy it. Learn more about how purchases are billed.

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap your name, then tap Payment & Shipping.
  3. Tap Edit and remove Apple Pay.
