If your Apple ID password works on your Apple ID account page and iCloud.com, but you see a message that your password is wrong when you set up your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch for iOS 9, follow these steps.
If you're updating to iOS 9.1
- Tap Skip and finish setting up your device.
- From your Home screen, tap Settings > iCloud.
- Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
- Tap Unlock Account.
- Follow the steps you see to unlock your account.
If you're updating to iOS 9.0.2
- From your Home screen, tap Settings > iCloud and make sure that the Apple ID you see is the one you want to use with your account.
- Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > iCloud.
- Tap Forgot Apple ID or Password.
- Follow the steps you see to unlock your account.
