Manage your Apple Music subscription if you‘re using an Android phone

Learn how to cancel Apple Music, change from an Individual to a Family or Student subscription, or join an existing Family.

With Apple Music, you get access to the entire Apple Music catalog of songs, playlists, videos, and more. You can access your library on all of your devices as long as you're signed in to all of your devices with the same Apple ID and iCloud Music Library is turned on.

This article is for Android phones. Learn how to manage an Apple Music subscription on an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC, or Apple TV.

Apple Music features might vary by country or region.

Cancel your subscription

If you want to cancel Apple Music, turn off Automatic Renewal. If you cancel during the trial period, you'll continue to have access to the entire Apple Music catalog until the date that you would have been billed for the full price.

Your subscription might renew if you don't turn off Automatic Renewal more than 24 hours before your renewal date.

  1. In the Apple Music app on your Android phone, tap the menu icon   in the upper-left corner.
  2. Tap your photo or name at the top of the menu.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of your profile page and tap View Account. If you don't have an Apple Music profile set up, skip to step 4.
  4. Tap Manage Membership or Manage Family. If prompted, enter your Apple ID password.
  5. Tap Subscription.
  6. Turn off Automatic Renewal. If you're prompted to confirm that you want to turn it off, tap Turn Off. When Automatic Renewal is off, paid Apple Music subscriptions automatically stop at the end of the current billing cycle and trial subscriptions end when the trial period expires.

Carrier-bundled subscriptions are managed through the carrier. Contact your carrier to cancel.

If you no longer have the Android phone that you signed up with or can't access the Apple Music app on that phone, cancel from iTunes on a Mac or PC. You might have to get the latest version of iTunes first.

Change your subscription

You can change your subscription type at any time. All types get access to the entire Apple Music catalog, but there are some differences:

  • With a Monthly Individual subscription, you pay each month. With an Annual subscription to Apple Music, you get 12 months of Apple Music for the price of 10.
  • With a Family subscription, families of up to six people can enjoy all of the benefits of Apple Music, each with their own library.
  • With a Student subscription, students attending degree-granting colleges or universities in select countries can use Apple Music at a discounted membership price for up to 48 months (4 years).

Follow the steps to change from your current membership type to Annual Individual, Family, or Student.
