Adjust the picture on Apple TV (4th generation)

Apple TV (4th generation) is designed to take advantage of every pixel on your TV. If you don't see the whole picture, you can adjust your TV.

On some TVs, you might see overscan. For example, the image's border might go beyond what you can see, or it might be cropped. To adjust for overscan, calibrate your Apple TV (4th generation) and your TV using the steps below.

  1. On your Apple TV, go to Settings > Audio and Video > Calibrate > Zoom and Overscan.
  2. With the calibration screen visible, open your TV's settings and adjust the aspect ratio and HDMI settings. The settings might be called Full Pixel, HD Size, Screen Fit, or Dot to Dot.
