For people who are sensitive to certain materials.
A small number of people will experience reactions to certain materials. This can be due to allergies, environmental factors, extended exposure to irritants like soap or sweat, and other causes. If you know you have allergies or other sensitivities, be aware that Apple Watch Hermès, the metallic portions of Hermès leather bands and the magnets in the watch contain some nickel.
Another potential cause of discomfort is wearing your Apple Watch Hermès too tightly or loosely. An overly tight band can cause skin irritation. A band that’s too loose can cause rubbing. If you experience redness, swelling, itchiness, or any other irritation, you may want to consult your physician before you put Apple Watch Hermès back on.
A better fit means better readings.
For optimal performance, your watch should fit close to your wrist. Adjust your Hermès band accordingly.
Hermès band care and cleaning.
Keeping your Apple Watch and Hermès bands — as well as your skin — clean and dry will maximize comfort and prevent long-term damage to the watch.
Hermès leather may be irreparably damaged by:
- prolonged sun exposure, which may alter the color;
- alcohol (perfumes), oily products (lipstick), and ink (felt and ball point), which may leave permanent marks;
- and water which may leave opaque traces and sometimes even blisters, which are very difficult to repair.*
The best way to care for your Hermès leather band is to wipe it with a fluff-free soft cotton cloth and to store it away from light and heat when it is not being used.
*Apple Watch is splash and water resistant but not waterproof. However, Hermès leather bands are not water resistant and may be irreparably damaged by exposure to water.
