Use System Information to check for Metal support

On Mac, you can also use System Information to check for Metal support:

  1. Press and hold the Option key and choose Apple menu  > System Information.
  2. Click Graphics/Displays in the sidebar.
  3. If you see Metal Family in the information on the right, your Mac supports Metal and Metal 2. If you see Metal Support, you will also see the version of Metal supported.
