If you don't install this software before upgrading, you might see a blue screen after your Mac restarts. Your Mac then restarts again, and you're returned to your previous installation of Windows. To prevent or resolve this issue, use these steps:
- Start your Mac in Windows.
- Use a web browser to download the FaceTime Camera Driver Update from the Apple Support website.
- Open the downloaded .exe file and follow the onscreen prompts.
- After you've installed this update, upgrade your existing Windows installation to Windows 10.
If you've already tried to upgrade to Windows 10 without installing this update first, let your Mac restart to the blue screen. After a few moments your Mac should restart again to the previous version of Windows that was installed. Follow the steps above to install the FaceTime Camera Driver Update in Windows, then try installing Windows 10 again.
