When enrolling in the Device Enrollment Program (DEP) you must provide an Apple Customer Number or a DEP Reseller ID.
An Apple Customer Number is an account number assigned to your organization by Apple, used to purchase Apple hardware or software directly from Apple. If you purchase directly from Apple but don’t know your Apple Customer Number number, contact your purchasing agent, finance department, or Apple account team.
A DEP Reseller ID is a unique identifier provided by Apple to each Apple Authorized Reseller (including cellular carriers) who participates in the Device Enrollment Program. If you purchase from a participating reseller but don’t know their DEP Reseller ID, contact your reseller. If your reseller does not yet participate in the Device Enrollment Program, you can ask them to contact their distributor or Apple account team for more information.
After you enroll in the Device Enrollment Program you will receive a DEP Customer ID.
A DEP Customer ID is your unique identifier in the Device Enrollment Program. To find your DEP Customer ID, log into deploy.apple.com and click on your name in the upper right corner, choosing Institution Details from the drop-down menu.
When you give your DEP Customer ID to a participating Apple Authorized Reseller, you authorize that reseller to submit devices you purchased from them to Apple for enrollment in the Device Enrollment Program. After the reseller submits your purchases you can manage those devices in the Device Enrollment Program.
You can use more than one Apple Customer Number or DEP Reseller ID
If you represent a large organization like a school district, you may have more than one Apple Customer Number. You may purchase devices both directly from Apple and from one or more reseller. You can add more than one Apple Customer Number or DEP Reseller ID when enrolling, or after enrolling by clicking “Add Reseller / Supplier” in your Institution Details (see above.)
