1GB of VRAM is recommended for editing 3D titles in Final Cut Pro, Compressor, and Motion

If you use Final Cut Pro, Compressor, or Motion with a video card that has less than 1GB of video RAM, you might see issues with 3D text.

1GB of VRAM is recommended for 4K editing and 3D titles in Final Cut Pro, Compressor, and Motion. If your video card has less than 1 GB of VRAM, you might see one or more of these issues with 3D titles:

  • 3D titles might appear lower resolution in the app, or in your exported content
  • Playback might be affected, including stuttering or skipping
  • You might see rendering issues, like text that includes blocks of green or other colors

If your computer has both an integrated and discrete video card (GPU), Final Cut Pro, Compressor, and Motion automatically use the discrete GPU.
