If your Siri Remote responds slowly or doesn't respond
If you need help while setting up your Apple TV, use other steps. Otherwise, use these steps and try again after each:
- Charge your Siri Remote or Apple TV Remote for ten minutes (use a Lightning to USB cable and a USB wall charger).
- Pair your remote again: Set the remote within three inches of and pointing at your Apple TV. Then press and hold the Menu and Volume Up buttons for five seconds.
- Restart your Apple TV.
- If you still need help, contact Apple Support.

If you get stuck while trying to set up your Apple TV (4th generation)
If you can't set up your Apple TV (4th generation) because your Siri Remote or Apple TV Remote won't respond, use these steps. Try again after each step:
- Pair your remote again: Set your remote within three inches of and pointing at your Apple TV. Then press and hold the Menu and Volume Up buttons for five seconds.
- If possible, try an Apple Remote (aluminum or white) instead.
- If you connected your Apple TV directly to your TV with an HDMI cable, try the directional buttons on your TV's remote.
- If you still need help, contact Apple Support.
