OS X: Wired 802.1x Configuration Profiles are Applied to the Active Network Location Only

After installing a Wired 802.1x configuration profile, the settings apply to the active network location only. Other network locations (or new locations you add) do not inherit the 802.1x settings. As a result, you are prompted to authenticate to the 802.1x protected network if you use a different network location.

Use only a single network location for Wired 802.1x profiles. If you use multiple network locations, create all of the required locations first. Then, switch to the one that has Ethernet only, and install the profile. You can also install the profile for each of your network locations.
