iOS: Songs or other audio content are skipped during playback

Sometimes when you use a third-party application to import a song or other audio content from a CD, that content will play in iTunes on your computer, but not on your iOS device.

Symptoms may include these:

  • iOS device immediately skips certain songs
  • iOS device stops or pauses playback at some point in the song
  • The Music application quits unexpectedly
