If the video you're watching includes captions and subtitles, you can find them in the Audio & Subtitles menu:
- Move your pointer over your video.
- Click the speech bubble icon
. - Choose the subtitle options that you want to use.

Set caption and subtitle preferences
If you want videos to use captions or subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing by default:
- Hold down the Control and B keys on your keyboard to open the iTunes menu bar. Learn more about menus in iTunes for Windows.
- Choose iTunes > Preferences.
- Click the Playback tab.
- Select "Prefer Closed Captions and SDH" to turn captions and subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing (SDH) on.

Customize captions and subtitles
You can customize the style of the subtitles or captions to better suit your needs:
- Hold down the Control and B keys on your keyboard to open the iTunes menu bar. Learn more about menus in iTunes for Windows.
- Choose iTunes > Preferences.
- Click the Playback tab.
- To the right of to Caption Style, click Configure.
- Choose one of the predefined styles, or create your own style by clicking New. You can change the font, size, and color of the text, along with the color and opacity of the background. A preview of your new style displays at the top of the window.

- Click OK to save your choices. iTunes uses this style as the default style for captions and subtitles for iTunes video playback.

Not all videos include caption or subtitle tracks. Check the documentation for the video you're using to see if it includes these features.
Some third party websites and apps provide custom caption controls for videos. If you don't see caption controls when viewing video from a website, check the documentation, or contact the website owner or app developer for more information.
