Final Cut Pro X: How to remove the Final Cut Pro X Trial

When the Final Cut Pro X Trial expires, you can remove it from your system.

To remove the Final Cut Pro X Trial, follow the steps below for OS X Mavericks. Note that if you are purchasing Final Cut Pro X, you do not need to manually remove the Final Cut Pro X Trial.

  1. In the Finder, choose Applications from the Go menu.
  2. Locate the Final Cut Pro Trial application and drag it to the Trash.
  3. In the Finder, hold down the Option key and choose Library from the Go menu.
  4. In the Library folder that opens, open the Application Support folder. Move the Final Cut Pro Trial folder to the Trash.
  5. Return to the Library folder and open the Caches folder. Move the "com.apple.FinalCutTrial" folder to the Trash.
  6. Return to the Library folder and open the Preferences folder. Move the following files to the Trash:

    com.apple.FinalCutTrial.LSSharedFileList.plist
    com.apple.FinalCutTrial.plist
