Use Alipay or a Chinese bank card to add store credit to your Apple ID in China

Learn how to use Alipay or a Chinese bank card to add funds to the Apple ID that you use for iTunes Store purchases.

On an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap iTunes & App Store.
  3. Tap your Apple ID. Learn how to create an Apple ID if you don't have one.
  4. Tap View Apple ID. You might be asked to enter your password.
  5. In the Edit section, tap Add Money.
  6. Select the payment type that you want to use to add money.
  7. Tap the amount that you want to transfer to the Apple ID that you use for iTunes Store purchases.
  8. Tap Alipay, UnionPay debit card, or the bank card that you want to use to transfer the funds, then tap Next. Only certain banks allow you to add money using an iOS device. If your bank card isn't in the list, you can add money from a computer.

    If you choose Alipay as your payment type, login with your Alipay ID and complete SMS verification with your email address or your mobile phone number.

    If you choose UnionPay debit card as your payment type, provide your card information and mobile phone number paired with your bank.

    For Alipay or UnionPay debit card, an SMS PIN is sent to your mobile number. After you receive it, enter this PIN to complete your transaction. If you choose UnionPay debit card, you won't be required to open a mobile web browser to complete your transaction.

    If you choose a bank card as your payment type, tap the authorization method that you want to use: mobile website or mobile phone. (If you choose mobile phone, make sure that your bank card is set up for mobile phone authorization.) Enter your payment information and Chinese Resident ID card details, and then tap Next.

After authorization, the funds credit to the Apple ID that you use for iTunes Store purchases.

On a Mac or PC

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. If you’re not signed in, sign in with your Apple ID. Learn how to create an Apple ID if you don't have one.
  3. From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen or at the top of the iTunes window, choose Account > View My Account.
  4. Enter your password, then press the Return or Enter key on your keyboard, or click View Account.

On the Account Information page:

  1. To the right of Payment Type, click Edit.
  2. Select the Alipay or bank card logo. You might be asked to enter your billing address.
  3. Click Continue.
  4. Select the amount you want to transfer to the Apple ID that you use for iTunes Store purchases.
  5. Select the bank card or payment type that you want to transfer the funds from, then click Continue.
  6. Click Done.

    If you choose Alipay as your payment type, login with your Alipay ID and complete SMS verification with your email address or your mobile phone number.

    If you choose UnionPay debit card as your payment type, provide your card information and mobile phone number paired with your bank.

    For Alipay or UnionPay debit card, an SMS PIN is sent to your mobile number. After you receive it, enter this PIN to complete your transaction. If you choose UnionPay debit card, you won't be required to open a web browser to complete your transaction.

    If you chose a bank card as your payment method, your web browser will open your bank card’s website. Complete the instructions on the bank card’s website to complete the transfer. Some bank websites aren't compatible with all browsers. You might need to copy and paste the URL for the bank card’s website into a different browser.

After authorization, the funds credit to the Apple ID that you use for iTunes Store purchases.

View your bank orders

On an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap iTunes & App Store.
  3. Tap your Apple ID.
  4. Tap View Apple ID.
  5. Tap View Bank Orders.

On a Mac or PC:

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen or at the top of the iTunes window, choose Account > View My Account.
    If prompted, enter your password.
  3. Click View Bank Orders. Bank orders from the past 30 days appear.

Your bank orders can have one of three statuses:

  • Complete: The order has successfully completed, and your money is available for the designated Apple ID.
  • Pending: The order is pending. You'll be notified when the order is complete. Orders might take up to 10 days to process.
  • Bank Error: The order wasn't completed due to a bank error. You'll receive a bank order number as a reference. Please contact your bank for more help.

  • Gift items to others.
  • Purchase items from the Apple Online Store.
  • Cash out.
