Use Home Sharing to share iTunes content with other devices on your home network

When you set up Home Sharing, you can share and stream content from the iTunes library on your computer with other computers, iOS devices, or Apple TVs on your home network.

First, turn on Home Sharing in iTunes

You can set up Home Sharing on up to five computers.

  1. Open iTunes and make sure you have the latest version.
  2. Go to File > Home Sharing > Turn on Home Sharing.
  3. Enter your Apple ID and password. Make sure to use the same Apple ID when you set up Home Sharing on your other devices.

Repeat these steps on other computers that you want to use with Home Sharing. Then you can stream music, movies, TV shows, apps, and other iTunes content from one authorized computer to another on your home network. You can also drag to move iTunes content between libraries.

To share or stream content from an iTunes library, make sure that the computer with that library (the host computer) is on and awake, and that iTunes is open.

To see all of your shared libraries, click   in the top-left corner of iTunes.

To automatically import purchases from other Home Sharing computers into your iTunes library, choose a shared library, click  Settings icon, and select the type of content that you want to import automatically.

Then, turn on Home Sharing on other devices
