Sync notes automatically across devices

On your iOS device, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, then choose an account and turn Notes on. Now you can use the Notes app to create and view all of your notes associated with that email account.

If your notes aren't syncing, check these settings:

  1. Make sure that you turned on notes for the account you're using.
  2. Check to see if your notes are stored in a local folder, like On My iPhone or On My Mac. If you have notes in these folders, you'll need to copy or transfer them to iCloud or IMAP before they'll sync with your other devices.
  3. If you're using Outlook, make sure that all of your notes have a subject, and remove any empty notes.

Sync notes with iTunes

If you have a Mac with OS X v10.7 or earlier, you can sync notes with iTunes. On your iOS device, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, then choose an account and turn Notes off.
