How to store your Apple Wireless Mouse when you‘re not using it

Turn off your Apple Wireless Mouse if you're not going to use it for a short while. Remove the batteries if you're not going to use it for a few weeks.

Everyday use

The Apple Magic Mouse and Apple Wireless Mouse automatically enter a low-power mode to conserve battery power when you are not using them. To wake the mouse, click the mouse button.

Short-term storage

If you're not going to use the mouse for a few days, or if you are going to be traveling with your mouse, turn it off to save battery power.

To turn off your mouse:

  1. Turn over the mouse.
  2. Slide the power switch to the "off" position. The red light will be covered.

Long-term storage

If you're not going to use wireless mouse for more than a few weeks, remove the batteries before storing it.
