Send iTunes Gifts via email

Through the iTunes Store, iBooks Store, and App Store, you can gift dollar amounts, books, audiobooks, music, movies, TV shows, or apps.

To send gifts, you need:

Gifts are only redeemable in the country they are purchased in.

Sending iTunes Gifts is not available in all countries.

From your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

You can gift amounts or items.

     

Gift an amount

  1. Open the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks app.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the main page.
    In iBooks, tap Featured in the menu at the bottom of the screen, and then scroll to the bottom of the page.
  3. Tap Send Gift.
  4. If you’re not signed in, sign in with your Apple ID.
  5. Enter your recipient's email address.
  6. If you want, add a message.
  7. Tap the amount that you want to gift, or tap other to enter a different amount.
  8. By default, the gift is sent immediately after you buy it. If you want to schedule the gift to send later, tap Today, then set the date that you want the gift to send.
  9. In the upper-right corner, tap Next.
  10. Select a theme for your gift, then tap Next.
  11. Tap Buy, then tap Buy again to confirm.

     

Gift an item

You can't gift individual songs using an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. If you want to gift a single song, use iTunes on your Mac or PC.

  1. Open the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks app.
  2. Find the item that you want to gift.
  3. In the upper-right corner, tap the Share icon  .
  4. Tap Gift  .
  5. If you’re not signed in, sign in with your Apple ID.
  6. Enter your recipient's email address.
  7. If you want, add a message.
  8. By default, the gift is sent immediately after you buy it. If you want to schedule the gift to send later, tap Today, then set the date that you want the gift to send.
  9. In the upper-right corner, tap Next.
  10. Select a theme for your gift, then tap Next.
  11. Tap Buy, then tap Buy again to confirm.

From your Mac or PC

You can gift amounts or items.

Gift an amount

  1. Open iTunes or iBooks, then click iTunes Store or iBooks Store.
  2. If you’re not signed in, sign in with your Apple ID.
  3. Under Quick Links on the right side of iTunes or iBooks, click Send iTunes Gifts.
  4. Enter your recipient's email address.
  5. Add a message.
  6. Tap the amount that you want to gift, or tap Other to enter a different amount.
  7. By default, the gift is sent immediately after you buy it. If you want to schedule the gift to send later, select Other Date, then set the date that you want the gift to send.
  8. In the lower-right corner, click Next.
  9. Select a theme for your gift, then click Next.
  10. Confirm your gift by clicking Buy Gift.

Gift an item

  1. Open iTunes or iBooks.
  2. If you’re not signed in, sign in with your Apple ID.
  3. Find the item that you want to gift.
  4. Click the arrow to the right of the item's price .
  5. From the menu, choose Gift This [item type].
  6. Enter your recipient's email address.
  7. If you want, add a message.
  8. By default, the gift is sent immediately after you buy it. If you want to schedule the gift to send later, select Other Date, then set the date you want the gift to send.
  9. In the lower-right corner, click Next.
  10. Select a theme for your gift and click Next.
  11. Confirm your gift purchase by clicking Buy Gift.

  • After you buy a gift, any open iTunes Store or iBooks Store orders that you have close, and the gift order is processed on its own. You'lll receive a receipt email with a line item that says "iTunes Gift for [email address]."
  • You can't purchase an iTunes Gift with store credit.
  • If you're using Family Sharing and Ask To Buy is enabled on your account, you can't purchase gifts. 
  • If you want to cancel a gift, you can contact Apple Support up to two days before scheduled delivery.
