Change your Apple ID country or region

If you move to a new country or region, go to your Apple ID account page, Account Info, or Settings to change your Apple ID information.

When you change your billing address from your Apple ID account page or through the iTunes Store or App Store, it updates your billing address for all of the Apple services with which you use the same Apple ID.

What to do before changing your country or region

  1. Spend any store credit remaining on your Apple ID. You must also wait for any pending store credit refunds to process before you can change your country or region. Learn what to do if your remaining store credit is less than the cost of a single item.
  2. Cancel any subscriptions, including Apple Music, and wait until the end of the subscription period to change your country or region. You'll also have to wait for any memberships, pre-ordersiTunes movie rentals, or Season Passes to complete.
  3. Update your payment method. For example, only German credit cards can be used to buy content from the German iTunes Store, iBooks Store, and App Store. Have your credit or debit card for your new country or region on hand.
  4. Back up your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to iTunes. You might need to temporarily downgrade your iCloud storage until you switch to the new country or region.

If you're a part of a Family Sharing group, you might not be able to change your country or region. Learn how to leave a Family Sharing group.

You can redownload your past purchases before you change your country or region, and you might be able to redownload many of them after you make the change.

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. On your device, tap Settings > [your name] > iTunes & App Store.
  2. Tap your Apple ID. If you're not signed in, sign in with the Apple ID and password that you use with the iTunes Store.
  3. Tap View Apple ID. You might be asked to authenticate your Apple ID.
  4. Tap Country/Region. 
  5. Tap your new country or region, then tap Next.
  6. Review the Terms and Conditions and Apple Privacy Policy, then tap Agree if you agree.
  7. In the prompt that appears, tap Agree.
  8. Select a payment method and enter your new payment information. You have to enter a valid payment method for your new country or region.Learn more about how to change or remove your Apple ID payment information
  9. Enter your billing address and tap Next.

On your Mac or PC

To open iTunes and sign in to your Account Information page, click this link: View My Account. Or follow these steps:

  1. Open iTunes. If you're not signed in, sign in with your Apple ID.
  2. From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen or at the top of the iTunes window, choose Account > View My Account.
  3. Authenticate your Apple ID, then click View Account.

On the Account Information page:

  1. To the right of Country/Region, click "Change Country or Region."
  2. From the "Select a country or region" menu, select your new country or region.
  3. Click Change.
  4. On the Welcome to the iTunes Store page, click Continue.
  5. Review the Terms and Conditions and Apple Privacy Policy. If you agree, select "I have read and agree to these terms and conditions."
  6. Click Agree.
  7. Enter your new payment information. You have to enter a valid payment method for your new country or region.1 Learn more about how to change or remove your Apple ID payment information
  8. Enter your billing address. 
  9. Click Continue.

From your Apple ID account page

  1. Sign in to your Apple ID account page
  2. In the Account section, click Edit. 
  3. From the Country/Region menu, select your new country or region.
  4. When asked, click "Continue to update."

  6. Click Save.

If you can't complete any of the steps, can't change your country or region, or you have less store credit than the cost of a single item, contact Apple Support.
