Delete songs and music videos from your iTunes library with an iTunes Match subscription

If you're an iTunes Match subscriber, use these steps to delete a song or music video from your iTunes library and iCloud.

Before you delete

You must turn on iTunes Match on your computer before you can delete items from iCloud. After you delete an item from iCloud, you can't recover it.

When you delete an item from iCloud, the item is also deleted from any iTunes Match-enabled iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch that syncs with your iTunes library.

An iCloud download icon   appears next to items that are in iCloud but aren't on your computer.

If you aren't an iTunes Match subscriber, you can hide your purchased content.

Delete songs and music videos

  1. On a computer with iTunes Match turned on, open iTunes.
Make sure that you have the latest version.
  2. Click the Music icon in the upper-left hand corner of iTunes.
  3. Click My Music.
  4. Right-click the item you want to delete, then choose Delete.
  5. If the item you want to delete is in iTunes on your computer and in iCloud, click the box next to "Also delete this song from iCloud" in the window that appears.
  6. Click Delete Song.
