Service Considerations

  • Important: Only Apple-certified technicians should perform this procedure.

  • Electrical Safety: The Studio Display (2026) has an internal power supply. Pay attention to electrical safety considerations to protect yourself while troubleshooting and repairing the display.

  • System Configuration: System Configuration must be performed after replacing the display or logic board.

  • Service Videos: New service videos are available for many of the repair procedures.

  • Display Removal and Reassembly: The design of Studio Display requires the use of support wedges (923-07529, 923-07530, 923-07531) to remove and reinstall the display. Fully read the repair procedures prior to display removal to avoid damage.

  • Torx Plus Screws: The tilt-adjustable stand, tilt- and height-adjustable stand, and VESA mount adapter repair procedures require a Torx Plus 20IP bit with an adjustable torque driver. The shape and depth of a Torx Plus screw is different than a Torx screw. Use of a standard Torx driver will strip the screw head.

  • Stand and VESA Mount Adapter Repair Procedures: Both repair procedures require the use of alignment pins for proper reassembly. Alignment pins are included with the enclosure, stand, and VESA mount adapter service parts. For the stand only, two of the screws are slightly shorter than the other five. Identify the two shorter screws during removal to avoid installing the screws in the wrong position during reassembly. Installing the screws in the wrong screwholes will prevent the stand from tilting properly.

Serial Number Location

The serial number is located on the bottom of the stand or on the underside of the edge of the VESA mount adapter.

Note: If the stand or VESA mount adapter has been replaced, a serial number may not be present.
