What’s new in firmware updates for Apple Pro Display XDR

Check the firmware version

To check the firmware version of your Pro Display XDR, press and hold the Option key on your keyboard while choosing Apple menu  > System Information from the menu bar, then click Graphics/Displays. In the Pro Display XDR section, the firmware version is listed next to Display Firmware Version.

Update the firmware

After you install the macOS version required by the firmware update, your Mac downloads the update within 24 hours. When your Mac is ready to install the firmware update, you may be prompted to restart to apply the update, and your screen might be black for a few minutes during installation.

If you select Not Now in the update prompt or notice that reference modes are missing from the presets menu, you might need to reconnect your display to power. Make sure that you're logged in to a user account in macOS, disconnect your display from power for 30 seconds, then reconnect your display to power.
