About Apple Account balance and gift cards in Singapore
Apple is discontinuing the ability to make purchases with an Apple Account balance in Singapore starting July 1, 2024.
Spend your Apple Account balance before Apple discontinues the ability to make purchases with it in Singapore starting July 1, 2024. Any App Store & iTunes gift cards redeemed before then can still be used toward digital purchases. If you don't use your Apple Account balance before July 1, Apple will begin issuing refunds for any remaining balance.
Apple Store gift cards are unaffected by this change, and you can continue to use them at Apple Stores.
What to do before July 1, 2024
If you want to spend your Apple Account balance before July 1, you can make purchases in the App Store and for Apple Media Services. Learn more about what you can buy with your balance.
If you have subscriptions and don't add a payment method before July 1, your subscriptions will automatically expire at their next renewal date.
To receive a refund for any remaining Apple Account balance, add a credit or debit card as a payment method to your Apple Account. If you have more than one payment method on file, make sure that you've reordered your list of payment methods so that your credit or debit card is listed as your default before any other payment methods.
Purchases with an Apple Account balance will no longer be possible after July 1, 2024
Starting July 1, you won't be able to use an Apple Account balance for purchases in Singapore. To continue making purchases and to keep your existing subscriptions, make sure you have a different valid payment method on file. If you don't have one, add a payment method.
If you have subscriptions and don't add a payment method before July 1, your subscriptions will automatically expire at their next renewal date.
Any remaining Apple Account balance will be refunded
After spending your balance is no longer possible, Apple will begin to automatically issue refunds for any remaining Apple Account balance to users in Singapore. If you have a balance, your money will be refunded to the default credit or debit card on file as a payment method for your Apple Account. You'll receive a confirmation email when Apple has processed your refund. Afterwards, it might take up to 30 days for your financial institution to show the refund in your account.
If you find additional App Store & iTunes gift cards after July 1, you can continue to redeem them to your Apple Account balance. Apple will automatically return the funds to your default credit or debit card on file after a few weeks. You'll receive a confirmation email when Apple has processed your refund. Afterwards, it might take up to 30 days for your financial institution to show the refund in your account.
If Apple is initially unable to issue a refund to your credit or debit card, you will be notified by email and receive additional instructions on how to receive your refund. If you don't have a credit or debit card to add to your Apple Account, contact Apple Support.
