For people who are sensitive to certain materials

A great deal of care and research goes into choosing materials for all of our devices. In addition to ensuring that all materials adhere to existing regulations, we developed our own specification for Apple Vision Pro that goes beyond those requirements.*

Every material that touches your skin has gone through extensive evaluation in accordance with our specifications. This includes:

  • Thousands of material composition tests

  • More than a thousand prototypes worn for trial studies

  • Thousands of toxicological assessments

  • Consultations with board-certified dermatologists

A small number of people might experience reactions to certain materials. This can be due to allergies, environmental factors, extended exposure to irritants like soap or sweat, and other causes.

What's in your Apple Vision Pro

If you know you have allergies or other sensitivities, be aware that Apple Vision Pro contains the following materials:

Display System: aluminum, glass, polyester, nylon, polycarbonate

Light Seal: polyester and nylon yarn, thermoplastic elastomer, polycarbonate polyester, stainless steel

Light Seal Cushion: nylon textile covered polyurethane foam, thermoplastic elastomer

Audio Straps: aluminum, fluoroelastomer, stainless steel

Battery and power cable: aluminum, polyester, stainless steel

Solo Knit Band, including Fit Dial: stainless steel, polyester yarn, spandex

Dual Loop Band: polyester yarn, spandex

Make sure that you have a proper fit

The best experience starts with a precise fit. In order for your Apple Vision Pro to work properly, it needs to fit you well. If it’s too tight, it could cause skin sensitivies or discomfort. If it’s too loose, it might not work as expected.

An overly tight head band might cause irritation to any area that touches the skin, and potentially to the forehead and face if there’s too much pressure from the band being too tight. A band that’s too loose can cause the device to not properly fit or work as expected. If you experience redness, swelling, itchiness, or any other irritation, you may want to consult a medical provider before you put your Apple Vision Pro back on.

Keep your Apple Vision Pro clean

Keeping your Apple Vision Pro, bands, and Light Seal — as well as your skin — clean and dry maximizes comfort and prevents long-term damage to the device. This is especially important after workouts or exposure to liquids such as sweat, soap, sunscreen, and lotions that can cause skin irritations.
