Use the Apple Games app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac

Learn how to get started with the Apple Games app, your all-in-one destination for games and playing with friends.

Before you begin

Make sure that you upgrade your device to the latest version of iOS, iPadOS, or macOS.

Sign in to Game Center in the Apple Games app

  1. Open the Apple Games app.

  2. Tap or click Continue.

  3. If prompted, sign in to your Apple Account.

  4. Sign in to your Game Center account. If this is the first time you've signed in to Game Center with your Apple Account, you can customize your player profile in the following ways:

    • Tap or click your avatar to personalize it. You can create a Memoji, use an existing one, or customize your monogram.

    • Tap or click the Nickname field to enter a name that your friends will see when you play games together. You can also choose the randomly generated suggestion.

    • Choose who can see your game activity, including achievements progress, leaderboard updates, and recently played games.

  5. Tap or click Continue.

To customize your player profile at any time, tap or click your avatar at the top of the screen, then select Edit Profile.

On an iPhone, the Apple Games app is open. A user is signed in and has options to customize their profile and manage their friends, and see an overview of their challenges and achievements.

Change your activity sharing settings

You can choose who you want to share your activity with, like your achievement progress and the games you've played. Your nickname, avatar, and scores are visible to all Game Center users.

On your iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Settings. Scroll to Game Center, then tap it.

  2. Go to Activity Sharing and choose to share your activity with Everyone, Friends Only, or Only You.

    On an iPhone, Game Center is open in Settings. A user is signed in and has options to share their activity.

On your Mac

  1. Choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Game Center.

  2. Go to Activity Sharing and choose to share your activity with Everyone, Friends Only, or Only You.
