Mac Pro (2023) Power Button with Status Indicator Light

Before You Begin

Remove the following part before you begin:

Tools

  • Nylon probe (black stick)

  • Torx T5 screwdriver

Note: The power button with status indicator light (SIL) has two ends. The power button end is held in place with screws and the SIL end is held in place with adhesive.

Removal

  1. Place the housing on a clean, flat surface as shown.

  2. Reach into the housing and use the T5 screwdriver to remove the four T5 screws (923-03463) from the power button end.

  3. Gently pull the power button end to separate the adhesive between the SIL end and the housing.

Reassembly

  1. Align the screw holes on the power button end with the screw holes on the housing. Use the T5 screwdriver to reinstall the four T5 screws (923-03463) into the power button end.

  2. Align the SIL end with the two holes as shown. Then use the flat end of the black stick to hold the SIL end in place for 15 seconds to adhere it to the housing.

    • Important: If you’re installing a replacement power button with SIL, remove the adhesive backing on the SIL end before you align it.

  3. Place the housing on a clean, flat surface with the top of the housing facing up.

  4. Ensure that the power button with SIL is flush with the top of the housing. Then press the power button to ensure that it clicks.

Reinstall the following part to complete reassembly:
