Mac Pro (2023) Feet and Wheels

Before You Begin

Remove the following part before you begin:

Tools

  • 4 mm hex bit

  • Flexible driver

  • Painters tape

Note: The images in this procedure show the removal and reinstallation of feet. However, the procedure is the same to remove and reinstall wheels.

Removal

  1. To avoid scratching the metal, wrap painters tape around the space frame bars just above the screw holes.

  2. Place the computer on its side with the PCI Express (PCIe) slots facing up. Use the flexible driver to guide the 4 mm hex bit into the screw hole in the space frame bar. Ensure that the 4 mm hex bit securely fits in the screw head.

  3. Use the flexible driver and 4 mm hex bit to fully loosen the 4 mm hex screw. Then remove the foot and save it for reassembly.

    • Note: The 4 mm hex screw is captive and will remain in place inside the space frame bar.

  4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 to remove the other feet.

Reassembly

  1. Align the two pins on the foot with the two pin holes on the T55 security screw on the space frame bottom plate.

  2. Hold the foot so the pins stay engaged. Use the flexible driver and 4 mm hex bit to fully reinstall the 4 mm hex screw into the foot.

  3. Remove the painters tape.

  4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 to reinstall the other feet.

Reinstall the following part to complete reassembly:
