iMac (24-inch, M1, 2021, Four ports) Low-Speed Flex Cable

Before You Begin

Remove the following parts before you begin:

Tools

  • Nylon probe (black stick)

  • Support wedges

  • Torx T3 screwdriver

Removal

 Caution

If the logic board service part packaging isn’t available, perform the following steps on an ESD-safe surface. Don’t bend the logic board when removing or reinstalling the low-speed flex cable.

  1. Ensure that the logic board is positioned in the logic board service part packaging tray as shown.

  2. Use the T3 screwdriver to remove the three T3 screws (923-05561) from the low-speed flex cable to logic board connector cowling.

  3. Remove the low-speed flex cable to logic board connector cowling. Save it for reassembly.

  4. Use the flat end of the black stick to lift both ends of the low-speed flex cable off the connectors on the logic board.

Reassembly

  1. Gently press the ends of the low-speed flex cable to the connectors on the logic board.

    • Note: Don’t bend the connectors.

  2. Reinstall the low-speed flex cable cowling.

  3. Use the T3 screwdriver to reinstall the three T3 screws (923-05561) into the low-speed flex cable cowling.

    • Important: If you install a replacement low-speed flex cable, leave the adhesive release liners in place until you reinstall the logic board and low-speed flex cable.

Reinstall the following parts to complete reassembly:
