Add clickable links in TextEdit on Mac
When you use smart links, any web addresses you enter in new TextEdit documents become clickable links. For example, “www.apple.com” turns into a link that opens the website. And “mailto:karina_cavanna@icloud.com” turns into a link that creates an email for Karina Cavanna.
In the TextEdit app
on your Mac, choose TextEdit > Preferences, then click New Document.
Select “Smart links” under Options.
For information about clickable links, see Add links to documents.
