Create and manage Pages templates on iPhone
If you create a document that you want to use again as a model for other documents, you can save it as a template. Creating your own template can be as simple as adding your company logo to an existing template, or you can design a completely new template.
You can add your custom templates to the template chooser, save them as a file to share with others, and use them in Pages on your Mac or iPad. Custom templates that you create on your iPhone are grouped in the My Templates category of the template chooser and are shared across all your devices.
Save a document as a template
If you’re signed in with the same Apple ID on all your devices and have iCloud Drive turned on when you save your custom template, it’s available on all your devices (but not in Pages for iCloud).
Tap , tap Export, then tap Pages Template.
Tap an option:
Add to Template Chooser: Your template appears in the My Templates category in the template chooser.
Send Template: Choose where you want to send your template, or save it to Files.
If you add your custom template to the template chooser, you can still share it later. Just touch and hold the template thumbnail in the template chooser, lift your finger, then tap Share. If the Share option isn’t available, you may need to download the template to your device.
Install a template from another source on your device
You can install a custom template that you received as an attachment by adding it to the template chooser in Pages.
Note: The template is already installed on all your devices and available in the My Templates category of the template chooser if you chose Add to Template Chooser when you created the template (and were using iCloud Drive with the same Apple ID).
On your device, do the following to install a template from these sources:
AirDrop: Make sure AirDrop is turned on. When the AirDrop message appears, tap Accept, then tap Add.
An email: In Mail, tap the attachment, then tap the screen. Tap at the top of the screen, tap Open in Pages, then tap Add.
iCloud: Open Pages, and if a document is already open, tap Documents or at the top of the screen to see all your documents. Tap Browse at the bottom of the screen to see the Locations list, then tap where you want to install the template (iCloud Drive or On My iPhone). Tap the template, then tap Add.
Rename a custom template
If you’re signed in with the same Apple ID on all your devices and have iCloud Drive turned on, renaming a custom template renames it on all your devices.
Open Pages, and if a document is open, tap Documents or in the top-left corner to see all your documents.
Tap to open the template chooser.
Tap the My Templates category near the top of the screen (the last category on the right).
Touch and hold the template thumbnail, lift your finger, then tap Rename.
Type a new name.
To quickly delete the current name, tap the “x” in the text field.
Tap Back to return to the template chooser.
Delete a custom template
If you’re signed in with the same Apple ID on all your devices and have iCloud Drive turned on, deleting a custom template deletes it from all your devices.
Open Pages, and if a document is open, tap Documents or in the top-left corner to see all your documents.
Tap to open the template chooser.
Tap the My Templates category near the top of the screen (the last category on the right).
Touch and hold the template thumbnail, lift your finger, then tap Delete.
Tap Delete to confirm, or tap Cancel.
