Change Playback preferences in iTunes on PC
In the iTunes app on your PC, use the Playback pane of iTunes preferences to choose how to fade songs in and out, change music sound quality during playback, and more.
To change these preferences, choose Edit > Preferences, then click Playback.

Crossfade Songs | Fade songs in and out, with no silence between songs. Drag the slider to change the amount of time it takes for the current song to fade out at the end and the new song to fade in. | ||||||||||
Sound Enhancer | Change the music’s sound quality during playback. Drag the slider to increase or decrease the Sound Enhancer’s effect. | ||||||||||
Sound Check | Play all music and video at the same volume. | ||||||||||
Video Playback Quality | Choose the option (Best Available or Good) that works best with your computer. | ||||||||||
Maximum Resolution | Choose a maximum resolution for videos. Videos with a resolution smaller than the maximum aren’t scaled up. | ||||||||||
Play Audio Description When Available | If available, automatically play the description of the visual content. | ||||||||||
Caption Style | Control how subtitles are styled, and whether to use closed captions and SDH instead, when they’re available. | ||||||||||
Play Audio Using | To allow system sounds from your computer to be heard while listening to audio, choose Direct Sound. To turn off system sounds during playback, choose Windows Audio Session. | ||||||||||
Sample Rate For Audio and Bits Per Sample For Audio | Use these settings to fine-tune audio playback quality. For best results, the settings must match your settings in the Sound control panel in Windows. |
