How to keep your Apple Card account safe

Learn how to protect yourself from fraud and make the most of Apple Card’s security features.

Actions you can take to keep your Apple Card safe

One of the most common causes of fraud occurs through malicious social engineering techniques, manipulating you into performing actions or divulging confidential information. Apple and Goldman Sachs will never call you to ask for sensitive personal information, including Card details and passwords.

Turn on Advanced Fraud Protection

When you make online purchases with your Apple Card and have Advanced Fraud Protection turned on, your three-digit Apple Card security code changes periodically. This feature protects against fraud when you use your virtual Apple Card number for online and in-app purchases where Apple Pay is not accepted.

Turn on Stolen Device Protection

With Stolen Device Protection, certain features and actions have additional security requirements when your iPhone is away from familiar locations. These requirements help prevent someone who has stolen your device and knows your passcode from making critical changes to your account or device, like using your Apple Card to make a purchase.
