Use a wired connection to transfer data to a new iPhone
You can transfer your iPhone data to a new iPhone using a wired connection.
Transfer data from an iPhone 14 or earlier to an iPhone 15 or later
To migrate data from an iPhone 14 or earlier to an iPhone 15 or later using a wired connection, use a USB-C to Lightning Cable. Then:
Turn on both devices and follow the onscreen instructions.
Connect your iPhone 15 or iPhone 16 to Wi-Fi or your device's cellular network.
You might be asked to activate your cellular service.
Set up Face ID.
You'll need to wait for the transfer to complete on both devices before you can use them. Transfer times can vary based on factors such as network conditions and the amount of data being transferred.
To migrate iPhone data to your new iPhone wirelessly, use Quick Start to transfer data to a new iPhone.
Transfer data from an iPhone 14 or earlier to another iPhone 14 or earlier
To migrate data from an iPhone 14 or earlier to another using a wired connection, use a Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter and a Lightning to USB Cable. Then:
Connect the Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter to power through its Lightning port. Make sure to use a 12W or higher power adapter.
Connect the Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter to your current iPhone.
Plug the Lightning to USB Cable into your new iPhone, then connect the other end to the USB 3 Camera Adapter.
Turn on both devices and follow the onscreen instructions.
Connect your new iPhone to Wi-Fi or your device's cellular network.
You might be asked to activate your cellular service.
Set up Face ID or Touch ID.
You'll need to wait for the transfer to complete on both devices before you can use them. Transfer times can vary based on factors such as network conditions and the amount of data being transferred.
